Our programs offer educational and family resources, community events, and care packages for newly diagnosed kids - helping them feel confident, connected, and ready to thrive.

Care Packs
Our Sugar Smart Kids care packs are designed to brighten the day of newly diagnosed children. Each package is filled with diabetic-friendly snacks, glucose options for low blood sugar, fun stickers, and colorful device accessories - all chosen to bring comfort, encouragement, and little extra joy as they start their journey. We want every child to feel supported and know they’re not alone.
Sugar Smart Pals
Sugar Smart Pals is our special pen pal program designed to connect kids living with type 1 diabetes. Through letters, drawings, and shared stories, children can build friendships with others who truly understand what life with diabetes is like. This program helps kids feel less alone, encourages them to express themselves, and reminds them that there’s a whole community cheering them on. Whether they’re sharing tips, celebrating wins, or just saying hello, these connections can make all the difference.
Sweet Support Circle
Parenting a child Parenting a child with type 1 diabetes comes with unique challenges — but you don’t have to face them alone. The Sweet Support Circle is our monthly virtual meet-up created just for parents and caregivers. Grab your favorite coffee or tea and join us for a relaxed, welcoming space to share stories, exchange tips, and connect with other families who truly understand. We’re based in Little Elm, Texas, but we welcome families from anywhere to connect with us! Many of our resources and programs are available online too.

We are currently in the process of applying for 501(c)(3) status. Once approved, donations will be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Absolutely! We believe supporting parents and families is just as important as supporting kids. We offer resources, education materials, and community meet-ups.

Most of our programs are free, thanks to our generous donors and sponsors. Some special events may have a small fee, but we always work to keep things accessible.
